Tiago Repolho received his BSc from the University of Aveiro (Portugal, 2001), an MSc in Biology and Marine Resources Management (Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, Portugal, 2007), and a PhD in Marine Biology and Aquaculture, from the same institution (2012). In Jul 2019, he enrolled in a junior researcher position at his host (Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre, MARE). Currently, he develops his research activities at the Laboratório Marítimo da Guia (FCUL, Cascais, Portugal), having as major scientific areas of expertise marine biology, aquaculture, physiology, and biochemistry, besides environmental-related sciences (Climate Change). He is particularly interested in the development of integrated multitrophic aquaculture (Marine Aquaponics), from the scientific (e.g. nutrition, biochemistry, physiology, biotechnology, bioremediation), as well as technical (e.g. aquaculture engineering), social and entrepreneurship (e.g. blue economy) points of view. Currently, he participates (2 as PI; 8 as a team member) in 10 funded research/cooperation projects (marine and environmental sciences), comprising national and international research associates. He has authored 39 peer-reviewed scientific papers [h-index: 20 (Scopus, 702 citations; Scholar, 939 citations)], some of which published within top-ranked journals (e.g. Global Change Biology, Proceedings of the Royal Society of London, Scientific Reports) and highlighted by renowned institutions (e.g. European Commission) and media. He has performed 49 oral and 38 poster communications in national and international meetings (2001-2020). At a national level, he was assigned as: i) member of host´s scientific committee (since 2015); ii) head scientific officer for SCUBA diving (since 2015) and animal welfare (since 2019) at the Laboratório Marítimo da Guia (MARE); iii) member of the Portuguese scientific committee (German-Portuguese cooperation roundtable, GFZ-Potsdam, 2017), and iv) external evaluator for the National Portuguese Innovation Agency (ANI, since 2019). Internationally, he has acted as: i) reviewer for international peer-reviewed journal publishers (John Wiley & Sons, Elsevier, World Aquaculture Society, Springer Nature, PeerJ, since 2011, please check Publons) and book proposals (Elsevier, since 2019); ii) external evaluator/rapporteur for international evaluation programs.
