"CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE OCEANS OF TOMORROW" EXHIBITION AT MUSEO DO MAR REI D. CARLOS
The research team of Project FISHBUDGET was invited to participate in the scientific committee of the traveling exhibition "Climate Change and the Oceans of the Future", organized by MARE - Center of Sciences of the Sea and the Environment of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, and hosted by the Museo do Mar Rei D. Carlos, Cascais. Opened to the public from February 9 to July 31, 2019, this exhibition addressed climate change effects on marine ecosystems, tackling impacts on specific habitats (mangroves, coral reefs) and on relevant socio-economic activities, like fishing and aquaculture. The potential interactive effects between climate change effects and other environmental stressors (pollutants, toxic algal blooms and pathogens), as well as the adaptation/mitigation strategies presently being developed and implemented are also explored.
