Task 3.

Determination of physiological expenditures (faecal and nitrogenous losses)

In Task 3., fish faecal losses will be determined, through the estimation of various parameters, e.g. total fecal production, faeces production rate, feed intake, ingestion rate, feed absorption and conversion efficiencies, apparent digestibility, crude protein in faeces, and protein and energy efficiency ratios. Moreover, the energy lost in ammonia-N and urea excretion will be also determined.
